The 1925 silent film masterpiece accompanied by live music from the acclaimed ensemble Hesperus, which specializes in historically informed performance. Music from the period of the film, set during the American Civil War, is the perfect complement to Buster Keaton’s madcap and inspired adventure.

Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul
Just a few days past St. Patrick’s Day, we are delighted to welcome the nine-time all-Ireland Fiddle Champion, Eileen Ivers and her band to explore the music of Ireland, showcasing a variety of traditional Irish instruments as well as modern instruments that have entered the tradition over the past 50 years. Their electrifying show blends Celtic music and its Appalachian/Bluegrass, French-Canadian, Cajun and American country music counterparts.

Ariel String Quartet
Formed 10 years ago in Jerusalem, the Ariel Quartet is now in residence at the New England Conservatory. Though the players are still in their mid-20s they have won wide acclaim for both the technical mastery and youthful sophistication of their music-making.

Quartet New Generation
Hailed as “four recorder virtuosos” by The New York Times, and “mind-blowing” by the Los Angeles Times, QNG—Quartet New Generation took top honors at the 2004 Concert Artists Guild International Competition. QNG mesmerizes its audiences through innovative programming that juxtaposes contemporary and early music. Performing on upwards of 20 different recorders of varying sizes and shapes during the course of a typical performance, the Quartet transports the listener into new sonic worlds
